Springfield Psychological Associates (SPA) is an integrated, multi-specialty practice consisting of licensed psychologists, licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), and licensed professional counselors (LPCs), committed to providing quality care in the enrichment of emotional and behavioral health. We also specialize in Forensic services, including Court ordered psychological evaluations, custody evaluations and expert testimony, as well as Sports Psychology and the assessment of academic challenges, including ADHD and specific learning disabilities.
Allison is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Registered Art Therapist with a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development from Pratt Institute. She has nearly 30 years experience utilizing talk therapy and art therapy for effective self expression and the formation of coping skills to manage co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, co-dependency and a myriad of other emotional struggles. Her compassionate, professional and intuitive work in outpatient, inpatient and remote settings has solidified her skills with adolescents, adults and families with emotional and/or recovery related issues. Allison is available for consultations in afternoons, evenings and some mornings Monday through Thursday.
Debra is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been helping individuals, groups and families for over 20 years. Debra was educated and trained at the New York City Wurzeiler School of Social Work where she received her Master’s degree. She went on for additional post master’s training at Hunter College, the Institute for Rational Emotive therapy and the Heathstone Institute. She obtained her BA from Rutger’s University. Debra primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in her work. She specializes in interpersonal issues, life transitions, anxiety, depression, loss/grief, senior adult care management, family caregiver support and co-dependency. She takes a supportive and pro-active approach to her work, helping to empower individuals, groups and families to actively problem solve.
Lisa Hipscher is a Licensed Professional Counselor, with more than 14 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. Lisa helps each of her clients expand their level of self-awareness to make positive changes in their lives. Lisa specializes in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, loss, divorce, parenting concerns, infertility and PCOS. Lisa uses a variety of treatment modalities; cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, and strength-based therapy. Lisa believes that providing a safe and nurturing environment in which her clients can openly express their emotional needs and find solutions to the challenges life brings. Lisa is also a licensed NJ school counselor and SAC having worked in the New Jersey school system as a crisis counselor.
Loraine Marlatt is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey and Colorado, and she earned her Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado. Loraine has over 13 years of experience working with adolescents, adults and couples. Her areas of expertise include, but aren’t limited to, working with those with anxiety, depression, childhood abuse/neglect, sexual identity issues, trauma, interpersonal relationship issues/conflict, and insomnia. Loraine utilizes several different treatment modalities in her work, including CBT, interpersonal work, EMDR for trauma, and other modalities as applicable, while also recognizing that emotional and physical health are often connected. Loraine has done many school based presentations, addressing issues including self-esteem, gender issues, suicide and cultural sensitivity. “Change is a challenge of the soul, for one must find the strength to let go in order to embrace what could be.”
Darren Lumbard Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years experience working with individuals, teams and organizations with complex needs. He completed his BS in Psychology at the University of Sheffield, UK, in 1997 and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Oxford, UK, in 2002. He worked professionally in the UK for a number of years in psychiatric institutions, supporting the recovery of people with complex mental illness and personality difficulties. Dr Lumbard joined Springfield Psychological Associates in 2018. A team player, sports enthusiast and former college athlete, Dr Lumbard works collaboratively with the aim of helping clients improve their mental health and relationships, manage competing commitments and stressors, build resilience and maximize work, academic and sporting performance. His clinical approach is strengthened through his personal experience of the psychological impact and process of recovery from major and catastrophic injury.
